Lakemont Christian Childcare & Preschool is a NEW Christian childcare and school, newly constructed with modern amenities, nestled atop Cougar Mountain in Bellevue's Lakemont community.
Lakemont Christian Childcare & Preschool is located in the west wing of the new Calvary Chapel Eastside. With its ideal Lakemont address- which is in east Bellevue, bordering Newcastle, Redmond and Issaquah- it is within easy reach of both 405 and I-90. LCC will provide daily childcare and education for children 1-5 years of age, and before/after/vacation care for elementary-aged children; nurturing each child's physical, social, emotional, cognitive and spiritual needs. LCC will also be a preschool, encompassing early academics with a Christian perspective- with both AM and PM programs. Services will include learning through play, games, activities, music, social interactions and academic exercise in a structured environment. Healthy and child-friendly snacks, light breakfasts, and full lunches will be served daily. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. OPENING THIS YEAR!

Jenne Greene has had almost 20 years of working in the childcare field, encompassing all roles from substitute, to head teacher, to supervisor. She has also had experience in writing, customer service and a strong sales background. Miss Jenne attended SCCC/University of Washington for her AAS in Early Childhood Education, and has her STARS/MERIT credits. She has helped out in Sunday Schools and had babysat since she was a child, herself (12), and started working in a Christian daycare when she was 18. open a Childcare facility that is much like the one she had been a part of; one that ministers to the families, and loves on the children in a Christlike manner,while offering a program rich in all aspects of learning (physical, mental, emotional, social, and of course, spiritual). Since 2006, Miss Jenne has been blessed with having 3 young sons of her own, and took leave of the childcare workplace to care for her children, occasionally babysitting/nannying for other children, too. Miss Jenne truly loves children and is ever-enthusiastic with creating fun and encouraging learning experiences; this, along with her extensive knowledge, will be key in Lakemont Christian Childcare & Preschool's development.

Lakemont Christian Childcare & Preschool currently has an ideal prospect to assist Miss Jenne in managerial duties. LCCP will hire 2 or 3 full time teachers who are either ECE or STARS certified or have adequate college credit and experience, and hire 2 additional part time teachers aides.
An advisory board is pending, but will likely include: Mr. & Mrs. Greene, Pastor Robert Case and/or Pastor Merlyn Linden from Calvary Chapel Eastside, and our program supervisor/co-director.
Does my child have to attend Calvary Chapel Eastside or any church to be admitted to LCCP?
No. LCCP serves the Eastside community at large without regard to race, religion, gender, color, national, or ethnic origin and has an open, non-discriminatory admission policy. It is expected that students and their parents will respect our foundational Christian beliefs which are posted on the "Our Beliefs" page.
What curriculum does LCCP use?
LCCP uses recognized and accredited curricula such as ABCJLM. A Beka curriculum is its instructional foundation. A Beka is an extremely challenging Christian curriculum that has been used in Christian schools for many years.

Is LCCP licensed or accredited?
LCCP has been working closely with the Bellevue DEL in attaining our State License while CCE is still undergoing construction. The beauty of a new facility (besides being new) is that we are currently implementing all WAC requirements of safety and functionality as a childcare and even exceeding minimum requirements. We have also begun the process of seeking acreditation thru ACSI and aspire to be a NAEYC accredited facility once established.

Are lunches provided or are students required to bring their lunches from home?
LCCP has daily hot lunches with morning and afternoon snacks, but you are free to pack a lunch/snack for your child as long as they do not contain peanuts, tree nuts, caffeine, or excess sugar.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes, we offer several discounts as follows: Electronic Funds Transfer Discount: 3% discount for full tuition families. Multi-Child Discount: 10% off the oldest child for full tuition families, $5 off any additional children for families on Child Care Assistance.

Can I call at anytime?
Yes, during business hours is preferable, especially during naptime when it is quieter. We encourage good communication with our families on a daily basis, but if there is anything you need to speak with us beyond that, please do not hesitate to call or set up a time when we can talk.
Do you close for snow days?
Unless the roads are absolutely impassable, LCCP will be open. We know parents have to go to work and need childcare. Most likely we will follow the Issaquah School District snow schedule, so you can tune in the news or follow us on Facebook for updates.

My child is three and not potty trained. Will he be allowed to attend?
Yes, however there will be an additional cost to cover the added labor for a child who is three and not yet potty trained (akin to the older toddlers rate).
My child cries every time I leave. Is this normal? What should I do?
It is very normal for some children to have separation anxiety when their parents leave. We have found that if you have a routine that you stick to every day, this reassures the child. Bring them in, give them a hug and kiss, reassure them that you will be back and leave. Generally if they cry, they stop within a few minutes of our leaving. You are welcome to call back later and check to see if they are settled.

Are you professionally screened?
Teachers require physicals and attend childcare trainings regularly. We are also CPR and First Aid Certified.
Do you have an illness policy?
Yes, as is required by WA DEL , if a child has a fever of 100* or more accompanied by cough, vomiting/diarrhea, drowsiness or unusual behavior, .they cannot attend and have to be fever free for 24 hours. If they are on an antibiotic, it also needs to have been administered for a 24 hour period before returning. Children cannot attend with any communicable disease until their doctor has determined it safe and a written note from that doctor is received. If a child becomes ill during the day, the parent would be notified to pick that child up early.

Does every child have to nap/rest?
Yes, according to DEL regulations, all children in full day care are required to rest. Each week you will be asked to bring a crib-sized sheet and small blanket for the week. It will be sent home to be laundered at the end of each week. Children may also bring in one special stuffed animal friend for nap.
Are your hours flexible?
We open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 6:00p.m. You may register your child Full-Time, Part-Time and for Pre-School AM/PM hours. If your child is registered for Pre-school or P/T and you are late in pick-up or need extra days/hours, you will be billed for the excess hours as a Drop-In (rate $10/hr).

Can I come to visit the center during the day?
We have an open door policy. You may come to visit at any time. Some children, especially younger ones, don't understand that you are coming to visit and may be upset when you leave.
Do you celebrate birthdays/holidays?
Yes. We have a younger group of children, so our activities around those celebrations are kept to a minimum, but still very enjoyable. You are free to bring in a commercial/store bought treat free of peanuts/tree nuts, along with other party favors, and also participate in a small celebration during their snack time.

Can my child bring in a toy or game to share?
Absolutely, as long as they are willing to share that toy or game, and preferably, on their "Show-and-Share" days. We encourage that as it will help to teach the children that sharing is good and when others do the same, they will receive the benefit as well. Books are also a good thing to bring in as the child will feel a special connection when their book is read to the group. We urge you to label all items and know that we are not responsible should they go missing.
Do students have a Bible class?
Yes. Children in the one year old class through Pre-K attend chapel/worship once a week and have daily Bible time.

What do you use for discipline?
Mainly we use the "three strikes you're out rule". We first try redirection, especially with younger children. And then, give each child fair warning of unacceptable behaviors, but if verbal warnings do not correct the issue, the privilege, toy or activity will be taken away and the child will sit and think about that behavior (1 minute per child's age).
We reinforce positive behavior and deal with problems immediately, as well as helping the children to make good decisions. If unacceptable behaviors continue, we will speak with the parent. We strive to teach respect for others by modeling that.
